Sadhbh
My name is Sadhbh. I have been practicing yoga since I was 18. Yoga has brought me back to myself many times over since then. It has taught me peace and stillness. In my daily life this has enabled me to be calm, confident and grounded. That doesn't mean i’m always that way, or that once you choose the path of yoga you walk one direction and never look back. I still have days where I struggle to see the goodness in life, days where I feel overwhelmed, or like I'm not enough. These fluctuations of emotions in life are normal. I know that. I also know I am always better in the times when I’m practicing yoga. For me, yoga comes now in many forms. It’s not a sequence of stretches. More so a ritual, a feeling. It can be many things. Being kind and selfless in my actions (Karma Yoga). Remembering to connect to my breath (Pranayama). Allowing myself time to slow down and rest (Restorative Yoga). Practicing clearing the mind, learning that I have control over my own thoughts (Yoga Nidra - Meditation).
These are the things about yoga that I want to share and teach others. How to be kind. How to use our breath to calm our minds and bodies. How to give ourselves the time to rest that we really need. How to take back control of our own mind. Learning to quieten our thoughts and find peace among the chaos.
